The story behind this artwork

This icon is hand-crafted on wood. As to Archangel Gabriel, the Annunciation of the Theotokos is a pivotal event in the life of the Virgin Mary, where the Archangel Gabriel appears to her and tells her that she will give birth to Jesus. It reminds us that we should always be ready for God's unexpected visit. Archangel Michael is the most glorious and brilliant general of the bodiless Powers, who is set over all the heavenly armies. He is the defender of God's people. He wields a sword and delivers God's final judgment. In addition to his traditional armor, he was shown wearing a shield bearing the figure of an eagle with outstretched wings.

Museum Standards Technique

These icons are reproduced according to Museum Standards Technique.

Blue Colored

Once the wood panel is cut to the desired dimensions, our crafters carefully apply the Blue Colored into the prepared surface.

A mounting point is placed at the back of the icon, along with the Certificate of Authenticity and Quality. Each of our icons bears the studio's unique title and logo.

Theme application & final details

Once the Blue Colored are applied, the Museum Standards technique is implemented. The theme is painted mechanically directly on the prepared surface and our crafters finish the artwork by painting a delicate red border.
