About the icon
The Presbyter and Hieromartyr
Charalambos served as a presbyter in Magnesia in Asia Minor and, according to tradition, was martyred at a great age in the time of Septimius Severus, after enduring cruel tortures with patience. Icons show him as an elderly priest with a long white beard, in priestly vestments and holding the Gospel. Greeks invoke him in times of epidemic, and his feast on 10 February is a popular name day. Painted entirely by hand in tempera, this original is set on a recessed panel with a 24k gold leaf background.
This is a 100% Handwritten artwork crafted according to Byzantine technique and style, totally painted by hand with 24 karats Gold Leaves background. Once the theme is painted by our skilled craftsmen, a mounting point and the Certificate of Authenticity and Quality are installed at the back of the icon.
All of our artworks bear the studio’s distinctive title and logo. This icon is totally Handmade and though it may have very slight differences from the photos shown.
