About the icon
God With Us
The name Emmanuel comes from the prophecy of Isaiah that a virgin would bear a son, called 'God with us'. In this icon Christ appears as a boy or young man with a broad brow, holding a scroll and blessing, showing that the One born as a child is the eternal Word, wise before all ages. The image is closely associated with the Nativity and the Annunciation. Painted entirely by hand in tempera, this original is set on a recessed panel with a 24k gold leaf background.
This is a 100% Handwritten artwork crafted according to Byzantine technique and style, totally painted by hand with 24 karats Gold Leaves background. Once the theme is painted by our skilled craftsmen, a mounting point and the Certificate of Authenticity and Quality are installed at the back of the icon.
All of our artworks bear the studio’s distinctive title and logo. This icon is totally Handmade and though it may have very slight differences from the photos shown.
