About the icon
The Redeemer
The name Jesus itself means 'the Lord saves', and the Church honours Christ above all as Saviour of the world. This icon shows Him in half figure, holding the Gospel and blessing, the inscription IC XC marking His name. It is one of the oldest and most familiar images of the Lord, given a central place in churches and homes and offered at baptisms, name days and in times of trial. This Museum Edition faithfully reproduces the icon on a raised panel, its background laid by hand in matte gold leaf.
This is an authentic icon crafted according to Byzantine technique and style. All parts are made by hand and only the theme is reproduced using Advanced Museum Standards Technique.
Once the natural wood panel is cut to the desired dimensions, our skilled craftsmen meticulously apply the Matte Gold Leaves on the background. Then the theme is directly printed on the prepared surface, resulting to an exquisite work of art.
At the back of the icon, a mounting point is installed, accompanied by our Certificate of Authenticity and Quality. At the small sized icons a stand is also available. All of our artworks bear the studio’s distinctive title and logo.
A thorough quality inspection takes place before we secure the package with durable protective materials to ensure safe delivery.

Beautiful icon, the picture doesn’t give the makers hand enough credit. Glory to God.
High quality print. Carefully crafted without anything to criticize about.
This is a beautiful icon of Jesus Christ the Savior. I ordered it together with Virgin Mary Giatrissa ( The Healer) and I donated them to the church.
