About the icon
The Co-Chief Apostle | Apostle to the Gentiles
Saul of Tarsus was converted by a vision of Christ and carried the Gospel across the Roman world, founding churches in Philippi, Thessaloniki, Berea and Corinth and preaching in Athens. His fourteen Epistles form much of the New Testament. Beheaded in Rome under Nero, he is commemorated with Saint Peter on 29 June. Icons show him with a high forehead and dark pointed beard, holding a book of his letters. This Museum Edition faithfully reproduces the icon on a raised panel, its background laid by hand in matte gold leaf.
This is an authentic icon crafted according to Byzantine technique and style. All parts are made by hand and only the theme is reproduced using Advanced Museum Standards Technique.
Once the natural wood panel is cut to the desired dimensions, our skilled craftsmen meticulously apply the Matte Gold Leaves on the background. Then the theme is directly printed on the prepared surface, resulting to an exquisite work of art.
At the back of the icon, a mounting point is installed, accompanied by our Certificate of Authenticity and Quality. At the small sized icons a stand is also available. All of our artworks bear the studio’s distinctive title and logo.
A thorough quality inspection takes place before we secure the package with durable protective materials to ensure safe delivery.

Hang the icon from the mounting point on its back, away from direct sunlight, radiators and damp walls. Gold leaf and painted colours keep best in steady, dry conditions.
Dust it gently with a soft, dry brush or cloth. Never use water, sprays or cleaning products on the gold or the painted surface.
After a thorough quality inspection, your icon is placed in its black luxury icon case and secured with durable protective materials for the journey.

Very well done and beautiful
The icons from Agiografia are of the highest quality. Alex was fantastic to work with and the packaging and care taken in shipping was unparalleled. The icon arrived in its own case which is a nice touch. I really like the recessed kickstand on these small icons so that they may be free standing or wall hung depending on preference. Thank you again!
