About the icon
The All-Serbian Archimandrite
Justin studied in Saint Petersburg, Oxford and Athens and taught theology until the post-war regime removed him from the university. He spent his last decades at the Monastery of Ćelije near Valjevo, guiding the nuns and many visitors, writing his Dogmatics and translating the Lives of the Saints into Serbian. He reposed in 1979 and was glorified by the Serbian Church in 2010. He is commemorated on 1 June. Painted entirely by hand in tempera, this original is set on a recessed panel with a 24k gold leaf background.
This is a 100% Handwritten artwork crafted according to Byzantine technique and style, totally painted by hand with 24 karats Gold Leaves background.
