About the icon
Our Lord, God & Savior
The icon of Christ is the foundation of Orthodox iconography: because the Son of God became man, He can be depicted. Christ's halo bears a cross and the Greek letters meaning 'He who is', with the abbreviation IC XC for His name. He usually holds the Gospel and blesses with His right hand. His icon stands at the right of the Royal Doors in every church and in every Orthodox home. This Museum Edition faithfully reproduces the icon on a raised panel with a gold foil background.
This is an authentic icon crafted according to Byzantine technique and style. All parts are made by hand and only the theme is reproduced using Advanced Museum Standards Technique.
Once the natural wood panel is cut to the desired dimensions, our skilled craftsmen meticulously apply the Gold Foil with Gilding Effect on the background. Then the theme is directly printed on the prepared surface, resulting to an exquisite work of art.
At the back of the icon, a mounting point is installed, accompanied by our Certificate of Authenticity and Quality. At the small sized icons a stand is also available. All of our artworks bear the studio’s distinctive title and logo.
A thorough quality inspection takes place before we secure the package with durable protective materials to ensure safe delivery.

We deliver worldwide with FedEx and DHL Express: Standard shipping takes 8–10 business days and Express 1–3 business days. Every parcel is insured and tracked.
Orders to the USA and UK are sent with all import duties included, so the price you pay at checkout is the final price, with no customs bill on delivery. Customs in some countries may need an extra day or two to clear the parcel.
Each icon is made to order. The preparation time is shown next to the price, and you receive the receipt and tracking details by email when your icon ships.
Hang the icon from the mounting point on its back, away from direct sunlight, radiators and damp walls. Gold leaf and painted colours keep best in steady, dry conditions.
Dust it gently with a soft, dry brush or cloth. Never use water, sprays or cleaning products on the gold or the painted surface.
After a thorough quality inspection, your icon is placed in its black luxury icon case and secured with durable protective materials for the journey.
