Prophet Elijah (Elias)

The Thesbite and Zealot for God

Elijah prophesied in Israel in the days of King Ahab, opposing the worship of Baal. Fed by ravens in the wilderness, he called down fire from heaven on Mount Carmel and was later carried up in a chariot of fire, leaving his mantle to Elisha. He appeared with Moses at the Transfiguration. Commemorated on 20 July, he is shown with a long white beard and a mantle of sheepskin, often in his cave with the raven. In this Silver Relief the icon is presented in gold-plated silver relief on a panel.

This is an authentic Silver Plated artwork with Gold details, crafted according to Byzantine technique and style. The theme is reproduced using Advanced Museum Standards Technique.
