About the icon
The Vision of the Apocalypse, The Seven Lampstands
In the first chapter of Revelation, John hears a voice like a trumpet and turns to see one like the Son of Man, clothed in a long robe, holding seven stars in His right hand and standing amid seven golden lampstands, which signify the seven churches. Overcome, John falls at His feet as though dead and hears the words 'Fear not'. The apostle is commemorated on 26 September and 8 May. This Museum Edition faithfully reproduces the icon on a raised panel, its background laid by hand in matte gold leaf.
This is an authentic icon crafted according to Byzantine technique and style. All parts are made by hand and only the theme is reproduced using Advanced Museum Standards Technique.
Once the natural wood panel is cut to the desired dimensions, our skilled craftsmen meticulously apply the Matte Gold Leaves on the background. Then the theme is directly printed on the prepared surface, resulting to an exquisite work of art.
At the back of the icon, a mounting point is installed, accompanied by our Certificate of Authenticity and Quality. All of our artworks bear the studio’s distinctive title and logo.
A thorough quality inspection takes place before we secure the package with durable protective materials to ensure safe delivery.
