About the icon
The Archbishop of Myra & Wonderworker
A fourth-century Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, Nicholas is remembered for his compassion for the poor, his defence of the innocent and his firmness in the faith. His relics were later taken to Bari in Italy, where they are still venerated. Seafarers honour him as their protector. Icons show him as a bishop with the Gospel, sometimes surrounded by scenes from his life. His feast on 6 December is a name day for Nikolaos and Nikoletta. In this Silver Relief the icon is presented in 999 silver with 24k gold relief on a carved panel.
This is an authentic Pure Silver artwork with 24k Gold Plating, crafted according to Byzantine technique and style.
Once the natural wood panel is cut to the desired dimensions, our skilled craftsmen meticulously apply the Pure Silver Carved theme on the prepared surface and then the 24k Gold Plating, resulting to an exquisite work of art.
At the back of the icon, a mounting point is installed, accompanied by our Certificate of Authenticity and Quality. All of our artworks bear the studio’s distinctive title and logo.
A thorough quality inspection takes place before we secure the package with durable protective materials to ensure safe delivery.
