About the icon
The Wonderworker Bishop
Spyridon lived in Cyprus in the fourth century, a married shepherd known for his hospitality, who was chosen as bishop of Trimythous. Tradition holds that at the Council of Nicaea he showed the unity of the Trinity with a clay brick that gave forth fire, water and earth. Icons show him in bishop's vestments with his woven shepherd's cap. His incorrupt relics rest in Corfu, and he is commemorated on 12 December. This Gallery Print reproduces the icon on a carved panel with a gold print finish.
This is an authentic icon crafted according to Byzantine technique and style. All parts are made by hand and only the theme is reproduced using Gold Print Technique.
