I was recently looking for a gift to mark a significant event in my own life. I found an amazing icon shop, Agiografia, in Thessaloniki, Greece. Here they craft, with love, icons in the Mt. Athos tradition: solid wood construction, gold leaf finish, intricate paint strokes, images of the eternal. They even offer free shipping to the US, so I gave it a shot. Well today, to my delight, after diligent Fed Ex email updates, I received a weighty package. It had 6 layers of careful wrapping, with an invoice in Greek and English, and a handwritten note of thanks and prayer. I felt like I was unwrapping something from another age. And the contents? A stunning icon of the father of monasticism, St. Anthony; it now hangs in a central place in my office. Far from being an item I will soon forget, the icon is an instrument of spiritual presence, linking past and present – and me – to the eternal.
The icon is indescribably beautiful, very good quality and I also received a very nice box as a gift from Alex. I can only recommend ordering here, he does a very good job :)

These icons are reproduced according to the Traditional Silk Screen Technique.
Gold Leaf on Natural Wood
Once the natural wood panel is cut to the desired dimensions, our crafters carefully apply the Gold Leaves into the prepared surface.
A mounting point and a stand are placed at the back of the icon, along with the Certificate of Authenticity and Quality. Each of our icons bears the studio's unique title and logo.
Theme application & final details
Once the gold leaves are applied, the Silk Screen technique is implemented. The theme is directly applied on the prepared surface and our crafters finish the artwork by painting a delicate red border.
The icon goes through quality inspection and then is placed into a case. Finally it is carefully wrapped into our Protection Packaging and is ready to ship! The whole crafting and preparation procedure takes about 4-9 business days from the moment you place your order.
