Saint Porpyrios is sitting and holding a scroll in one hand and his other hand holds his walking cane. Just this pose alone gives one to see the quiet and stillness that must surround him. To look into his face and see the kind expression gives me a peace that I can't explain; The colors, detail of his face, the cross he wears around his neck and the deep stillness of his eyes all work to give the impression he may be ready to speak. This is truly a masterpiece. Thank you for the great effort this took. I really like it.
Saint Paisios is shown in a standing position and the mountains and hut are behind him. I am especially amazed at the craftsmanship of how these features are placed on a beautiful piece of wood. It looks as if Saint Paisios will walk out of the picture. This is beautifully crafted with great care and purpose. I am very pleased with everything about this icon. It was packaged and well insulated in a traveling box and then placed inside a larger box that was wrapped and carefully wrapped again.
The colors and craftsmanship of Saint Nicolas is superb! This is a work of art that displays Byzantine style in a true way.
